Sometimes 1 is all you need.

When you’re looking to build your first web presence it can often feel a little a little daunting trying to think of what pages you should have and the content for each.

We know that sometimes, all you need is an awesome one page website. Nothing too detailed, nothing too difficult just a simple one page website.

Spring is fast approaching, and what better time than now to get a super web presence. That’s why as a special offer, we are offering professionally designed and coded one page websites for just £150. This includes one-to-one collaboration with one of our designers, and frequent communication throughout the whole process.

We make complicated things simple. We take over all the nerdy aspects of having a site built, and make sure that you’re only doing things that you’re comfortable with doing.

In order for the website to appear on the web, you’ll need your own web address (yourname.co.uk) and space on a web server. We can provide a web address for you, plus super reliable web space for an extra £5 a month, or if you pay for 12 months, £50.

Our hosting includes :

  • Unlimited Email Accounts i.e. you@yourcompany.co.uk
    • Fair usage policies apply. Contact us for more information
  • Web statistics access, so you can keep track of who is hitting your site
  • Powerful UK based servers, clustered for ultra high reliability that you can’t get with other hosting types.
  • Simple, intuitive control panel.

[codepotato] updates – Episode 1

Posted February 17th, 2010 in News by Gareth

Welcome all to the first ever update purely aimed at keeping you up-to-date with your favourite web-nerds (that’s us!).

What happened to January?

Was it just us, or did January speed away quicker than a rocket-powered sack of spuds! It was a busy month for us, working on a few projects such as proFITme and Accel Music Tuition.

January also saw a record-breaking dumping of snow in Hampshire  and although a lot of companies locally were brought to a stop, our working arrangements meant we could just plough through (if you’ll excuse the pun!). The joys of teleworking!

Bring on 2010

We’re really excited here that 2010 will be the best year yet for [codepotato] and our lucky clients. Quite simply, 2010 is the year that we really distinguish ourselves from other web development / design agencies within Hampshire, if not the whole UK. We can’t say too much at this point, but just take our word for it; you won’t be disappointed!

For now, that’s our news.

ICL-IFA.co.uk Website rated 5/5 by Financial Times Publication

Posted February 8th, 2010 in Blog, News by Gareth

We’ve previously helped Informed Choice (ICL-IFA.co.uk) with their website, and was sent a message via twitter, from Martin Bamford, stating that his company had been mystery shopped by the Financial Times’ publication, FTAdviser.com.

His company was scored across a number of different sections, one of which being “email / web presence”. The website that we helped develop was rated 5 out of 5, and helped push their overall mystery shopper score to 31 of a maximum 35.

Martin made the following comments regarding his recent work with us:

“We have had a presence on the Internet for over a decade, with our website always built using the DIY approach.  Due to the profile of our business (we are often featured in the national press) we were receiving increased levels of traffic although the conversion to enquiries was always disappointing.  The process of updating the website each time was also becoming extremely time-consuming.

We knew that what we needed was a modern and highly functional website, based on a content management system for ease of updates, to reflect our professional image to the outside world.

Having worked with Gareth before, we knew that he would readily understand our brief and be able to create a website of which we could be proud.  The end result was perfect; just what we wanted.  From the minute the site was launched, we have had excellent feedback from our clients and professional connections.

The impact on traffic to the website has been significant, with visitors increasing by over 50% and conversions (an important measure of success for us) going from 3 to 49 in a one month period compared to the previous year.  The website received the maximum score when we were recently subjected to a mystery shopping exercise, helping us towards the winning score in FT Adviser that week.

Overall, we have been delighted with our new website and the process of working with Code Potato has been fantastic.  We do not hesitate to refer Gareth to other business owners looking for similar results.”

2010 – Happy New Year to you all!

Posted January 5th, 2010 in News by Gareth

Welcome to 2010!

Having not kept to our promise of updating the codepotato website in 2009, i feel i am not on a good foot to promise that i’ll keep it updated this year, but i’ll certainly try.

2009 was a good year for us. Many relationships have been built with some pretty damn cool clients, some small, some big. The best bit is that we just keep growing.

We hope that in 2010, we can continue our rate of growth with two new products. One is a very simple, but useful CRM system and the other is something i cannot talk about. These products will be pay-as-you-go, meaning that if you’re not a heavy user, you won’t pay as if you are.

More on this later, but for now, from all of us at codepotato, Happy New Year!

Gareth
